Interactive Cards: Reveal Wheel Collection by Lawn Fawn

 Hello!

One thing (among many) that I love about stamp company Lawn Fawn is the creative variety of interactive dies they offer.

Car Critters Collection: interactive card at top right

I've been sharing cards made with the Car Critters collection, and the last one I showed was the interactive card (at the top right in the above photo). It was made with the Reveal Wheel die set. This set makes a circular "wheel" that you spin, while an opening in the front of the card shows images placed on the wheel.

That die set must be one of their most popular, because there have been a LOT of additional dies (and stencils) that work with it. First they made a square shaped add-on (you still need the original die set). They added stencils so that we can line up our images to match the openings in the front (those stencils are a game-changer!).

Then they began making specialty window dies so that we can make shapes that fit specific stamp sets--such as the car window shape that I used in my card. The dies fit into a notch in the Reveal Wheel main die. Soon, when they released a new stamp set, there was a matching Reveal Wheel add-on die released at the same time.

Reveal Wheel Collection of dies & stencils

I do not have the entire Reveal Wheel Collection, but I have a lot of them! I do have more of them than are in this photo. For the add-on dies that were made to coordinate with a specific stamp set, I store the die with the stamp set and its coordinating regular dies (example: if you look back at my Car Critters card post, I had the Reveal Wheel add-on die in the top right of the dies in the "here's what I used" photo).

These are the basic shapes that were made to provide more general options.

This die set is really easy to use (but do watch a related Lawn Fawn video to explain and walk through the steps). What I love most about these dies is that, unlike some interactive ones, the movement is smooth and works well. Some interactive designs are very busy--lots of work, and then they are temperamental in use--which often spoils the effect.

Best of all, these remind me of the View-Master and its reels that I had and loved as a kid. When we'd go on family trips, I'd get a set of reels from the places we visited, and then could look at them whenever I wanted.

Now, I am not an affiliate of Lawn Fawn, so I'm not financially motivated to get you to purchase from them. (I am, however, an Amazon affiliate--so any purchase made through my Amazon links will--at no cost to you--provide a small remuneration for me). I just think that the Reveal Wheel Collection is so great, and worth sharing. This blog is fun for me, not a real effort to bring in money (that's why I don't have those weird random ads here!).

It's a sunny day and I'm feeling good. Hope you are, too!
